Camera Frames: The Breakfast Club




Exteme Close Up (ECU) 

This is used to shown detail in emotion or scenery. It is used in tense and/or confusing situations in film and tv.
Close Up (CU)

This shows less detail than an ECU, but highlights that it whatever is shown is important to the storyline. It is often used in fast paced scenes.
Medium Shot (MS)

This is used in conversation, and shows most body language  and facial expressions. It allows room for movement and is used in most conversation scenes.
Medium Long Shot (MLS)

This shows a lot less detail. It allows room for full body reactions and body language. It is used in the start of confrontational scenes.


Long Shot (LS) 

This shot shows the full human body. It allows a full range of movement, and is often used at the end of highly dramatic scenes.
Extreme Long Shot (ELS)

This shot is usually used for establishing shots,  and shows a wide range of characters and background.
